London, UK. Summer 2017.
The late, great, Ian “Toots” Toothil.
Despite the finality of terminal cancer, he was determined to “Get busy living life,” and as a lasting act to inspire others, he decided to attempt to climb Mount Everest.
Despite reaching Camp 3 on the northern side, 80+ mph winds forced him to evacuate his tent and head back to Basecamp.
Mindful of the risks of his ill health, but knowing he wouldn’t get a second chance, he pushed again, to become the first person to summit with such a condition.
He may be gone but will never be forgotten.
